We all know that we need fast dinner recipes to get dinner on the table quick. Very seldom do any of us have time to make everything from scratch and spend hours in the kitchen. Here are some of my favorite fast dinner recipes to get dinner on the table in a jiffy!

Salisbury Steak

This recipe doesn’t take much prep time, but it does take a bit of time to bake, so plan ahead for that. The sauce has a nice zip to it, thanks to the barbecue sauce and the stuffing mix adds a nice flavor to the patties and helps to make this a quick fix dinner. To make this recipe even faster, substitute dehydrated onion flakes for the chopped onion.

Ingredients:

1 ½ lb ground beef
1 package stuffing mix for chicken
1 ½ cup water, divided
¾ c chopped onion (or 1 tablespoon dehydrated onion flakes)
8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
½ c barbecue sauce

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a large bowl, mix together then ground beef, stuffing mix, 1 ¼ cup water and the onion. Pat into ½ inch thick oval shaped patties. Put in a large baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.

While patties are baking, spray a skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Sauté mushrooms for 5 minutes, stirring every once in a while. Add remaining water and the barbecue sauce. Turn heat down to low and cook 1-2 minutes or until the sauce is heated.

Serve sauce over patties.

To round out this meal, serve with green beans and potatoes baked in the microwave while the patties are baking.

Zippy Chicken & Pasta

This is a fun and colorful fast dinner recipe that kids and adults love. It’s a great way to get kids to enjoy eating their veggies. This is a complete dinner on its own so it’s especially fast. Since it’s fairly light, dessert would be a good addition to this dinner.

Ingredients:

1 (8 oz) package fusilli or rotini pasta
½ c Italian salad dressing, divided
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into chunks
2 cups broccoli florets
1 large red pepper, chopped
1 small onion, sliced thin
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried)
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Directions:

Follow directions on package for cooking pasta.

While pasta is cooking, in a large skillet, heat ¼ cup of the dressing over medium-high heat. Add chicken chunks and cook about 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Stir occasionally. Add vegetables and parsley to the pan and cook 5 minutes longer.

Drain pasta. Add to chicken mixture and stir well. Add remaining ¼ cup of Italian dressing and toss to coat. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

A fun twist on this dinner would be to substitute shrimp for the chicken. If you make this substitution, you should reduce the cooking time to about 2 minutes or just until the shrimp turns pink. Shrimp will turn rubbery if overcooked, so it’s important to watch your cooking time.

Since this fast dinner recipe is a complete meal in one bowl, there really isn’t anything to be added to round out this meal. But since it’s nice and light, a quick dessert would be fabulous. I would suggest a pudding parfait. Just take your favorite flavor of pudding, layer it with cool whip and some graham cracker crumbs in a pretty glass and there you have an easy but fancy looking dessert.

One of the most inexpensive ways to feed a family is to serve a casserole as the main dish. Casseroles are also easy to prepare as they don’t take long to put together and you are free to continue with the other parts of the meal while they bake. But one of the best things is how tasty and nourishing they are. So whether you are looking for some quick, simple, and inexpensive meals for your family table or whether you need a dish for a potluck, family reunion, etc. go back to basics with these delicious casserole recipes. The Green Bean and Burger Bake is sure to please the kids with it’s sloppy Joe flavoring. You have meat, vegetables, and dairy in the form of cheese, all in this one dish. Add a salad, a favorite bread and just that easily you have a complete meal. For another, but different, easy casserole that should please the kids as well as your spouse. try the Simple Hamburger Hot Dish. Again, the meat ingredient is ground beef. With noodles, cheese, cream of mushroom soup, onion, etc., you can quickly have a tasty meal on the table that is both nutritious and pleasing. Add a green vegetable or carrots for color and extra vitamins, and you have another simple but delicious meal.

The prospect of having to host a dinner party can be stressful enough to reduce the most hardened veteran to tears. Anyone who’s been involved in work behind the scenes would know that cooking the food for the party is just one part of the intensive preparation that needs to be carried out prior to the event. Even so, this doesn’t detract from the importance of acquiring gourmet food recipes online.

It’s important to keep the décor in mind when throwing a dinner party. Buying a completely new dining and living room set is extravagant, needless and out of the question. It’s possible to glam up your home without breaking the budget. Always remember that guests perceive the setting as a reflection of the meal to come. Therefore, one would not expect the best gourmet food in dull and dowdy surroundings. Different slip covers for the furniture and good quality dining utensils are things you can’t do without.

Once you’ve sorted out any décor issues, it’s time to plan the menu. Settling on a specific theme makes it a lot easier to put together a meal. Exotic foods like Thai or Filipino or even a medley of well-known Asian dishes are likely to be well-received by guests. Deciding on a particular theme makes it easy for you to look for gourmet food recipes online as recipes can be grouped either based on their main component or the region from which they originate.

You will need to go shopping after deciding on a theme and décor. The shopping can be divided into two trips – one for non-perishables (decorations, cutlery, etc.) and one for perishables (food). Shopping in a methodical manner helps eliminate stress and a shopping list will prevent you from forgetting anything. It also helps you budget too, as the best gourmet food doesn’t come cheap. Never shop for food on an empty stomach either as this leaves you open to impulse food buys, loss of focus and potentially blowing your budget.

It’s important to send out your invites early so that it doesn’t clash with anything else guests might have planned. As the day of the dinner party approaches, the guest list should be finalized and attendances confirmed.

At the end, I’d like to share cool website with more details on topics like http://gourmetfoodonline.org/recipeindex/“> gourmet food recipes online . Visit for more details.

One thing we should admit is that most people love to eat foods that are high in seasonings. And sometimes these foods can be gotten from foods which are mostly acidic. Well, alkaline diet recipes will be the solution to preventing acid foods.

There can be many ways on how to prepare recipes that will suit our tastes. This can also be done with the fruits and vegetables that are alkaline foods.

You can easily prepare alkaline foods anytime. And here are the suggestions for alkaline juice, soup, snack and dinner.

• Alkaline Juice

This recipe is great for breakfast because it will boost your energy level. It awakens your digestive system while providing nutrition to your body.

You can mix cucumber, celery, spinach, lettuce leaves and any other green leafy vegetables. You can also use parsley and fresh alfalfa as optional boosters. Juice them together and mix 50/50 with distilled water. You can add optional lemon juice. You can also add prime pH to enhance the alkalinity of the juice even more.

• Alkaline Soup

This soup is very advisable while you are on a detox. This recipe contains avocado which is high in EFAs. It also contains cucumber which is well known for its cleansing properties. You can use herbs and spices, lemon and lime.

You will blend the avocado and stock it to form a light paste. After that, you will add spring onions, green or red pepper, cucumber, spinach and garlic. Add Bragg Liquid Aminos, light vegetable Boullion (yeast free) and juice of lemon or lime.

• Alkaline Dinner

For dinner, Detox Lime-Chili Stir ‘Fry’ is one of the likable alkaline diet recipes. The ingredients are Pak-Choi, carrots, mange-tout/sugar snap peas, beansprouts, broccoli, cabbage (red or green), fresh lime juice, chilli, coriander and vegetable boullion and brown basmati rice/wild rice.

The first thing you should do is to pulp the coriander with the mortar and pestle. And then add chilli and lime juice to make a sauce. Set it aside. And then, you will chop all the vegetables finely. After this you will steam them but do not fully cook so as not to lose the nutrients.

Now, you will cover the cooked stuff over the rice and then put the sauce.

It is so simple yet delicious. You can also steam fry the vegetable in a vegetable boullion stock if you do not have a steamer. If you are into seafood, you can also add prawns.

The amount of each ingredient is dependent upon your choice.

• Alkaline Snack

The alkaline recipe that will surely attract your taste is an asparagus dressed with lemon juice.

The ingredients are asparagus stems (bend towards the end and let them snap naturally), spring onions, melted (avocado) butter, grated lemon peel of half a lemon, fresh lemon juice of a whole lemon and fresh thyme.

Steam the spring onion and asparagus but avoid overcooking. Then mix the avocado butter, lemon juice, thyme and lemon rind to make the dressing. Add some cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil to neutralize the lemon juice a little. Now, stack the spring onion and asparagus and then dress.

These are some of the delicious recipes with alkaline foods. Surely, you will enjoy them. Alkaline diet recipes are delicious and healthy. They are all good for your body. You can get you free alkaline diet chart and a free newsletter when you visit http://www.acidalkalinediet.org.

When TV was young the moms depicted on the shows would wear pearls and dresses while cleaning house, then cook a complicated meal while dolling advice to the kids. That wasn’t just on TV, it was a reflection of real life. But the 21st century world is one of amazing technology and lives that are much more fast paced. Everyone’s on the look out for easy fast dinner recipes that give TV mom results without all the work. The Pilgrims didn’t have a good source for such simplicity in food, but they didn’t have the Internet either. There are a lot of sources on line to provide help to the busy family looking for a quality meal.

One steak can go a long way. Change the sides for different meal experiences. Change the spices for a trip around the world of food. Begin the adventure with a super large flank steak. For Monday add roasted potatoes and a tossed salad. Make Fajitas on Tuesday with some salsa and hot spices. On Wednesday make it Asian with some Teriyaki sauce, rice and vegetables. Thursday go back to the steak and salad, this time with mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side. Friday is the day for some pita bread and Greek spices. That’s right, Gyros. That’s one meat for five meals.

What, there’s even more to do with the steak? OK, get the plates and forks ready. Do southwestern steak with black bean wraps, or lentil and orzo salad with flank steak smothered in feta cheese . Now add another meat, and the variety is even more endless. Pork can be a roast, or ribs, or chops. The possibilities are endless.

With a little clever planning all the meals for the week can be cooked on the weekend, then heated and served in minutes. Plan an entire menu for a month then buy all the necessities for some good savings too. The children can learn about cooking too. Put them in charge for a week. Rotate days amongst the family.

And you thought easy fast dinner recipes were hard.

Eating healthy need not be a glum thing for your family. With healthy dinner recipes that are also based on any type of chicken recipe, you will realize that there is a multitude of ways to make things more palatable. The great thing about a chicken recipe is that the flavor will come from your own genius without it being too complicated. Read on ahead to find out what this means exactly.

A chicken recipe as your starting point for healthy dinner recipes begins with removing the skin off it. The skin of the chicken is the fattiest part of it, and once you remove it you will save yourself loads of cholesterol. Also, for the chicken recipe to be all the more healthier, you can concentrate on the white meat which has the least amount of fat.

Most people think that a chicken recipe that only uses the white meat is boring and not flavorful. On the contrary, it is able to absorb so many different flavors from herbs. Why not try a rosemary grilled chicken that is both flavorful and healthy? Healthy dinner recipes like this will only have you marinating the chicken in olive oil, garlic, a pinch of salt and some rosemary.

After preparing the chicken for marinating, heat up your grill. Once it is nice and hot, put the chicken on the heat and grill it until it is golden brown. You may even opt to baste it with some honey and lemon to give extra oomph to the taste and bring forth a bevy of flavors. As soon as black stripes appear and the chicken is a nice brown color, put it on a plate and serve with a side dish of some healthy salad.

More healthy dinner recipes that include chicken will involve a bit of an Asian flavor. Aside from grilling it, you can also bake it! Baking is another method of cooking chicken that is healthy and flavorful at the same time. To start, simply preheat your oven and assemble some easy to find ingredients.

Baste the chicken in canola oil and chopped garlic while you prepare the marinade. The marinade is a combination of mustard and soy sauce (which brings forth the Asian flavor to this dish). Add some lemon to the mixture and pour everything to the dish. You should try using a shallow and wide dish for this recipe.

Put the entire container in the oven and cook. Measure the temperature every now and then and make sure that the chicken is nice and moist – which you do by adding some olive oil if you think it is drying up. As soon as it is cooked, remove from the oven and serve on a nice plate with some stir-fried vegetables (broccoli is nice) on the side.

Cooking healthy dinner recipes is indeed more fun when you make your dish flavorful. With a chicken recipe like this, you will surely be encouraged to whip up more gastronomic feasts in the kitchen. Your family will surely enjoy and look forward to it every night.

Look for some great healthy dinner recipes here. A healthy dinner recipes (or two) would surely do a whole lot of good for your health while letting you enjoy dinner.

Around Christmas quick dinner recipes are a must.

Things get out of hand very quickly with Christmas parties for school and work, parties with friends, nights out singing carols or going to church, volunteering with local charities…it’s a bit crazy!

Of course at the same time you’re probably trying to buy and wrap Christmas gifts, cook Christmas cookies and cakes, as well as plan and prepare for your family Christmas dinner.

So when do all the normal things like housework and cooking dinner happen?

Well, often the simple answer is that they don’t!

It’s bad enough eating all those lovely festive goodies on Christmas day and feeling the weight settle on your hips so don’t make it worse for yourself by living on fatty take-out in the days before and after.

Here’s what I do to keep the family fed and healthy (and extra money to pay off the overloaded credit cards).

Use the freezer: If I think of it, every time I cook a casserole, soup or pasta sauce in early December I stick half of it in the freezer for emergencies. Even if I just remember to do this 2 or 3 times then that’s got the days immediately before Christmas covered.

Mince: Where would we be without minced meat? It’s just so quick and easy to prepare. I always seem to serve up our entire yearly allowance of Savory Mince around Christmas. Likewise with rissoles. They make such easy dinner recipes; I always make use of them.

Pasta: What could be easier than making up a simple sauce while some pasta boils? Too easy. Stick to simple, fresh ingredients like basil leaves tossed with olive oil, or lemon juice and cracked black pepper. Add a simple side of lettuce and red pepper and you have some healthy dinner recipes. If you have more time, add more ingredients. If you’re really in trouble, see the next point.

Go pre-made: Normally I’d rather eat cardboard than have to eat some salt laden, over processed gunk from the supermarket, but I make an exception at Christmas. Just add as much health as you can to it at home. Add extra chopped mushrooms or peppers and good grated cheese to frozen pizza; serve bottled pasta sauce sparingly with good pasta and a large, fresh salad; chop extra veggies into tinned soup; use brown rice instead of white with a frozen Asian stir-fry mix, and so on.

Keep it simple: If you’ve been eating up big at parties in the days before, then there is nothing wrong with just having melted cheese on toast one night. Or use up some left over dips with heaps of vegetable crudités. Avoid the crackers and chips.

Top up with water: At most parties and gatherings you’ll probably find yourself drinking alcohol (Christmas spirit!) or soft drink. The kids are probably filling up on cordial and soft drink too. On the nights when you are actually at home, ban anything that comes out of a container and just drink plain water. Give your body a break.

Don’t forget the fruit: If someone says they are hungry and you tell them to have an apple, they’ll probably turn up their nose at the idea. However, I’ve found that if I have fruit chopped up and on a plate or in a container in the fridge, it miraculously disappears. Likewise, if I slip a plate of fruit or veggies slices onto the table while we’re talking or watching TV, the same thing happens. Give it a try.

Leftovers: Lastly I’ve got to mention leftovers. Some people just throw away any food left after a meal. I guess I come from a frugal household, and I can’t bear to see good food go to waste. As long as food is put away and stored properly, it can nearly always be served up the next day. Sometimes leftovers can be given a make-over, like roast lamb being turned into Shepherd’s Pie, or a heap of roast veggies added to whisked eggs and cooked up as a frittata, both are quick and easy dinners.

Often I’ll just reheat everything and serve it out. We call this ‘bits ‘n’ bobs’ for some reason. It might be last nights roast and veggies with a bit of the previous night’s pasta on the side, something like that.

Yes, I know there will be nights in the weeks leading up to Christmas and probably after, where I just can’t face cooking a full meal, but MOST of the time we eat well and healthy using these quick dinner recipes.

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and healthy and prosperous New Year!
